My gift still says Locking — what does that mean?

You have not pressed Unlock yet, so the shards have not reached the recipient. Open My Profile → My Gifts, tab Gifts I sent, and press Unlock.

I gifted the wrong account — can it be cancelled?

No — a sent gift cannot be undone, and the site has no cancel. Only the recipient can send the shards back, so always check the SteamID before sending.

Can I gift gold, or only shards?

A gift carries shards. Gold changes only when the receiver exchanges those shards on the site.

Is an etopfun gift the same as an ETOP shard gift?

Yes — etopfun is the ETOP site, and the older name 5ETOP points to the same place. A gift there always moves shards between ETOP accounts.

How to Gift ETOP Shards

A gift moves shards from your ETOP account to another one. It is how shards change hands on the site, and how you sell them to us.

What a Gift Carries

A gift carries shards, the pieces in your ETOP backpack. They are listed per game — CS2, DOTA2, TF2 — and you pick them one by one.

Your gold balance stays where it is. The receiver exchanges the shards for gold on the site, the same way you would.

The Steps

Two routes: on the website with a Google Authenticator code, or in the etopfun app.

Via Authenticator (Website)

This route needs Google Authenticator on your ETOP account: My Profile → Google Authenticator.

Open My Gifts. Sign in to your own ETOP account, open My Profile → My Gifts and press Send Gifts. The Item Gifts page opens.
Enter the recipient. Type their SteamID or DigitalID in Your friend, and the site fills Nickname by itself. Check it is the person you mean — an empty box means the ID is wrong.
Pick the shards. Choose the game tab, CS2, DOTA2 or TF2, and press each piece you want to send. The counter above the form updates: Items(Selected 1 Items Value 1.00).
Press Send Gifts. The Authentication box asks for your Google Guard code. Type the 6-digit code from Google Authenticator and press Submit.
Find the row. The site returns to My Gifts, tab Gifts I sent. The new row shows Sending Time, Friend, Quantity, Total and the state Locking.
Unlock it. Press Unlock, then confirm the Information box with OK. The state turns Completed — only now does the recipient have the shards.

Via Android (App)

The same gift is available in the etopfun app.

A Gift Cannot Be Undone

Check before you send There is no cancel on the site. Check the Nickname the site fills in before you press Send Gifts.

Once unlocked, only the recipient can send the shards back. If something looks off after a gift to us, message @EtopChangerBot with the history row.

Gifting to ETOPCHANGER is Selling
